We rented a car again and toured the island. Naxos is bigger than Mykonos and has a mountain range that gets snow each winter. For Brianne’s birthday lunch, thanks mom, we travelled to Lionas and had lunch at a Trip Advisor, highly rated, family run, lunch spot on the beach, Delfinaki. It was great and we went swimming within a half hour after eating. Neither of our moms were here to stop us, surprisingly we didn’t get cramps and die. The overall reception of my “Make America Great Again” Speedo, swim suit has been negative, I’ll keep trying.
Our pursuit of out of the way, less touristed restaurants and beaches leads us to traffic issues not normally encountered in the city as the following video captured…
Of course when we get to the less touristed areas we ruin it, being tourists ourselves.
We stopped in a cute mountain town called Filoti. They had a cute downtown with shops and restaurants lining the streets. We stopped at a less touristed shop, the local Home Depot and met a delightful chap. (The wifi at some of our hotels is less than perfect. I’ll show you the video later )
